Important Safety Update from Race the Region
We wanted to give you an update on the status of the currently scheduled Race the Region Events. As of this moment we are hoping to proceed with all our events as scheduled. However, the current situation will without a doubt require us to change the way some events will be run. We do have a plan in place to make all Race the Region events completely no-contact, but still be professionally timed and scored and remain competitive. Because access to all school facilities is currently prohibited, any events that were originally planned to be held on school properties will require a change of venue. Obviously, a change of venue will require us to established new race courses, which may in-turn require us to change the race distances of some events.
So, while we may need to do things a little differently, we are more committed than ever to bring the running community of Northwest Indiana together to share our love of the sport in a safe and responsible manner.
For all scheduled races we will wait until the weekend before the race is scheduled to take place (7-10 days before the event) before we make a determination on if we will be able to proceed as scheduled and planned, if we will proceed as scheduled but with a few adjustments, or if we will need to postpone the event.
Please make sure to check the Race the Region Facebook page or the signup page of a particular event for updates.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this unprecedented and uncertain time.
Be safe, be smart, and be responsible.
